The Musée Fabre offers a wide range of facilities in order to guarantee visitor comfort and a quality visit

Reception and security staff are ready to help and answer visitor questions.


The floor plan guides you through the permanent collections with a map of themed rooms and each floor.

The 'gentle' guide is designed for people with reduced mobility. It follows an adapted trail with directions for access, lifts and dedicated lifts. The guide is available at the ticket office in the Buren hall and can be downloaded on line . As part of the upcoming museum signage change, this document will be updated soon.

The Musée Fabre's biannual cultural and artistic programme lists the museum's events and activities. It is available at the ticket office in the Buren hall and can be downloaded on line on the home page of the Fabre museum in "News".

Loan of material
Folding chairs and wheelchairs are available, free of charge, at the admissions desk in the Buren hall for visitors with mobility difficulties. A piece of identity is required for the loan of wheelchairs and reservations in advance are not available.
All material borrowed from the museum can not leave the buildings.



The individual audio guide offers a commentary by curators and museum guides to accompany the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions. It is available in French or English. Available for hire at the ticket office in the Buren hall for 3€ and with a piece of identity.

Multimedia to accompany your visit

Prepare your visit in advance using the on line options: choice of visit trails, room descriptions and audio guides available for download free of charge on the " Resources " page. There are open access computers in the museum's interpretation rooms and every visitor can enrich their visit by consulting available documents: films, archives, letters, related works...

Multimedia visit supports (iPod) are available free of charge to visitors to the Hôtel de Cabrières-Sabatier d’Espeyran .

Cloakrooms and Bags

Plan vigipirate

Personal belongings can be left, free of charge, in the automatic lockers (1€ piece needed) in the Buren hall on presentation of a museum entrance ticket. Objects must be collected the same day. 

Under the Vigipirate Security Plan all belongings left in a locker or left-luggage and every bag carried into the museum will be checked by security staff. 


Toilets and Baby facilities

Toilets and disabled facilities can be found at regular points throughout the museum. Baby changing facilities can be found on the ground floor, near the group reception point. 


For the enjoyment of all visitors, for the security of the collections and other visitors please respect the Musée Fabre rules. These user rules can also be consulted in the museum. 

It is permitted :

  • To photograph the collections without flash lighting, or any other form of lighting equipment, in the permanent collections and the Hôtel de Cabrières-Sabatier d’Espeyran.
  • To film

It is forbidden : 

  • To smoke
  • To drink
  • To eat
  • To talk loudly
  • To touch the artworks
  • To run in the museum
  • To visit with a pet animal (guide dogs and assistance dogs are permitted)
