Hugo Gallery

Jean Hugo was an associate of Picasso, Cocteau and La Fresnaye in the 1920s, before retreating to the village of Fourques, near Lunel, where he spent the second half of his life far removed from the avant-garde scene. The Musée Fabre's collection presents a unique overview of his strangely charming, faux-naïve work, unmatched in any other French public museums – a tribute to one of the Barnes Collection's best-represented artists.
