Opening times

The Musée Fabre

The Musée Fabre is open every day from 10am-6pm except on Mondays.

Ticket office shuts 30 minutes before closing time.

Closing starts 10 minutes before the museum shuts.

The Hôtel de Cabrières-Sabatier d’Espeyran Decorative Arts department is open:

  • From January 1st - December 24th, and from 2017 : Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday 2pm-5pm
  • From 2017 : Tuesday - Sunday 2pm-6pm
  • Closed January 1st, May 1st, November 1st and 11th, December 25th

Documentation centre

Open Wednesday and Thursday 2pm-6pm

It is possible to make an appointment with the documentation service outside of public opening times for research related to the museum and its collections.

Admissions

All entrance tickets are valid for one day. It is possible to leave the museum and return during the same day to continue your visit. 

An entrance ticket  to a temporary exhibition gives the holder one free visit to  the permanent collections in the Musée Fabre and the Hôtel de Cabrières-Sabatier d’Espeyran Decorative Arts department. It is valid until the temporary exhibition closing date marked on the ticket. 

For example: After visiting the temporary summer exhibition visitors can use the same ticket to return to the museum to visit the permanent collections and/or the Hôtel de Cabrières-Sabatier d’Espeyran Decorative Arts department before the closing date of the temporary exhibitions (indicated on the ticket).

- The 1st Sunday of each month for permanent collections (admission to temporary exhibition remains at the normal rate)

- During European heritage days, The Museums' Night (La Nuit des Musées nocturnal opening), National Archaeology days (Musée Henri Prades - Site archéologique Lattara) and the Students' Nocturnal (Musée Fabre), with the exception of the Musée Fabre temporary exhibitions. 

- Children less than 6 years old
- Inhabitants of Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole aged under 18, with proof of address
- Students under 26 years (valid student card) for the permanent collections, the Musée Henri Prades, temporary exhibitions.
- Unemployed with an unemployment card dating to less than 3 months.
- Recipients of welfare benefits with supporting document dating to less than 3 months.
- Disabled and priority card holders
-1 accompanying person for the disabled card holder, if the accompanying person is named on a valid card.
